(Pilot Research Project, 2010 to 2011), Charlotte, NC

JOMA Arts&Consulting, LLC was contracted by the Africana Studies Department to conduct a pilot documentation of the social, economic, cultural, and aesthetic (arts) resources of the New African Diaspora (NAD) in Charlotte, with emphasis on African and Caribbean immigrants. JOMA shaped and guided the overall pilot research interview process, from September 2010 through January 2011. The strategy to achieve the research goal was: a) Provide preliminary demographic information for the NAD in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area, b) Develop initial profile of the cultural, social, economic, and aesthetic (arts) resources of NAD in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
